Cuneiform   The Sumerian form of writing that was in wedge shaped forms and pressed into clay tablets with reeds.

Social Pyramid   At the top are nobles, government officials and priests. In the middle are the Merchants, skilled craftworkers, farmers, scribe, and traders. At the very bottom are the slaves.

Code   A written collection of laws.

Covenant   A special agreement.

Monotheism   The belief in only one God.

Astronomy   The study of the stars and planets.

King Hammurabi   The first king of the Babylonians. He ruled a bigger empire than King Sargon. Is known for the Code of Hammurabi. The first written collection of laws pertaining at every aspect of life.

Abraham   Made a special agreement with God. And it is from him that the Israelites trace their heritage back to. His descendants are going to out number the stars.

Moses   Leads the Israelites out of slavery from Egypt to the promised land of Canaan.

10 Commandments   The 10 laws that God gave to Moses for the Israelites to follow.

Diaspora   When the Jewish people spread to other areas than the Mesopotamia to escape the control of other empires. It's a word that means scattered.

Chaldeans   Responsible for creating the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Created an accurate calendar with the study of the stars.
