Explain India's caste system   There were different levels of respect. From top to bottom: Brahmans, Kshatriya, Vaishyas, Sudra and then Untouchables.(or brahman, merchants, artisan, and untouchables)

What is an untouchable?   They weren't even on the caste system. They were highly discriminated against because the jobs they did were considered unclean.

How does Hinduism support the Caste system in India?   Hinduism supported this because they believed that if you did your job well in this life, then you will be made higher in your next life.

How did Buddhism develop because of the caste system?   Saddhartha Guatama didn't like this unfair caste system. So he created Buddhism.

Explain how foreign involvement and conquest affected India?   The foreign involvement hurt India. Many countries and religious groups would take over India and set up an unfair government. After the British let them set up their own government, India's development stopped.

Explain how India gained its independence from Britain and some of the problems that arose in the years since.   The foreign involvement hurt India they didn’t want to be ruled by the British. Gandhi helped India become independent through passive resistance. The involvement stopped the development.

Describe how the cultural differences in India affect the country   People fought over land. The Muslims and Hindus both got land and the Sikhs didn't. They thought it was unfair. The Sikhs didn’t want to practice Buddhism. They had many differences that were difficult to resolve.
