*Submaster Fader   - PASSIVE volume control - Controls the output of the buss

Meter   Visual display of signal strength

*Multi-track Recorder   - Storage device for individual and combined audio signals - Can be tape or hard-disk based

Stereo Buss   collecting point for all signals going out the left and right outputs of the stereo outputs

*Master Fader   - PASSIVE volume control - Controls the output of the Stereo Buss - Used for fade-outs and fade-ins

Monitor Select Switches   Chooses which signal goes to the control room monitors

Return   Line level input to a console with access to the Stereo Buss

Unity Gain   fader position where input equals output

*Patch Point   - Access to the signal flow of a channel - Any jack providing access to a signal

*Insert Point   - The most common access point to a channel's signal flow - the pair of jacks usually found as EQ OUT/FADER IN
