| How is prephasing helpful? | It is helpful while tackling RC General questions. You can be sure atleast 2 choices will be very close and befuddle you. So why not get prephase before looking at the choices? Sometimes the question itself is long & twisted, so re-phrasing it helps.

| Should you read the 1st RC question before reading the passage? | Yes. But take it into consideration only if it's a general RC question. In that case glance over answer choices to see if its a logical structure question. If it is specific, forget about it else that can ruin your comprehension of the passage.

| What is extrapolation in RC answer choices? | Sometimes the passage will be relevant to a specific situation or thing. But in some of the choices, it would have been extrapolated to make wide ranging conclusions that cannot be supported by the passage.'Always', 'only' etc introduce such claims.

| What do 'implies' and 'suggests' mean when used in a RC question? | Both of them mean that you are being asked to make an inference. And so the correct choice will not be stated in the passage but has to be inferred.

| How much time to devote for a RC passage? | It depends on the no of questions being asked on the passage. Generally, you should not take more than 2*(no of questions) minutes to finish a RC. If 13 of 41 are RC questions, that still leaves 1.75 min for rest of SC & CR questions.

| Should you harp on a part of the passage you don't understand? | No. If there is a questions based on it, either the question or one of the choices will give a clue to what the author tried to convey in the passage. May be then you can take another pass at the passage section.

| Is content your friend? | Yes. Sometimes a choice will make a claim for which, there is no support neither opposition in the passage. It is simply out of scope.

| What is the disadvantage of having choice A or B as the correct choice? | If you are confident that A or B is the correct choice, you take the other choices lightly. Those choices might be better than A or B but you overlook them, thus making an error.

| What does 'According to the passage' mean in a RC question? | It means that the necessary information is explicitly stated in the passage.

| What should you do when you see words like 'always', 'none', 'never', 'entire' etc in RC choices? | Be wary of choices that preclude or include entire populations - they are rarely correct

| Pay attention to 'will' and 'may' in passages and choices? | Yes. The passage says 'may' whereas the answer choices extrapolate it to 'will. This is commonly tested

| Is scope your friend? | Always keep scope in mind when eliminating RC choices. Some choices make extragavant claims and thus get eliminated due to scope.
