Where does hemoglobin give up oxygen? | •Hemoglobin is the iron-containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein in the red blood cells in tissues. Hemoglobin transports oxygen from the lungs to peripheral tissues and carbon dioxide from peripheral tissues to lungs.
