Punnett square   A genetic tool to solve genetics problems mathematically.

recessive   Describes the gene that can be masked by a dominant gene; represented by a lower case letter. The recessive trait only appears when both genes are recessive.

trait   A distinguishing characteristic based on your genes (such as eye color or hair color).

hybrid   A genotype with 1 dominant and 1 recessive gene (like Tt or Bb)

purebred   A genotype with 2 dominant or 2 recessive genes (like BB or bb or HH or hh) also known as HOMOZYGOUS
