What is Thermal Energy? | The sum of kinetic energy and potential energy of the particles that make up a material.
🗑
What is Temperature? | Represents the average kinetic energy of the particles that make up a material.
🗑
How are temperature and kinetic energy related? | The average kinetic energy of the particles that make up a material is the temperature of the material.
🗑
What happens when the liquid in a thermometer moves? | When the alcohol increases, the temperature rises and when the alcohol decreases, the temperature falls.
🗑
What is Heat? | The movement of thermal energy from a warmer object to a cooler object.
🗑
What way does Thermal energy move? | Moves from the conductor (Metal) to the insulator (Non Metal)
🗑
3 types of thermal energy transfer | Radiation, Conduction, and Convection.
🗑
What is Radiation? | The transfer of thermal energy from one material to another by waves. (Waves)
🗑
What is Conduction? | The transfer of thermal energy between materials by the collision of particles. (Touching)
🗑
What is Convection? | The transfer of thermal energy by the movement of particles from one part of the material to another. (Heat rises)
🗑
What is thermal expansion and contraction? | Particles are spread out as their kinetic energy increases.Thermal contraction occurs because particles get closer together as their kinetic energy decreases.
🗑
What is a heating appliance? | Is a device that converts electric energy into thermal energy.
🗑
Does a Refrigerator transfer thermal energy? | Yes. It transfers thermal energy from a warmer area to a cooler area.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
