Purpose/Question/Problem | problem that the lab activity is designed to solve; usually stated in the form of a question
🗑
Research | gathering info; find out as much about the problem as you can
🗑
Hypothesis | possible explanation for a problem; an educated guess; make a prediction in the form of an "If (what you will do)... then (what you expect to see)... because (from the background info)...
🗑
Experiment/Procedure | design a step by step activity to confirm or disprove the hypothesis
🗑
Record/Analyze | written observations, measurements and other important info taken during the experiment
🗑
Conclusion | results of the experiment; address the factors that were tested; state whether your hypothesis was supported, be specific
🗑
Repeat | conduct the experiment again to make sure that data collection was accurate
🗑
Observations | what a person performing the experiment sees, hears, smells, tastes, or measures
🗑
