Temperate grasslands   land biome with moderate climate, but only grass (not enough rainfall for trees to grow), found on the interior of continents, fertile soil used for farming.

Savannas   land biome that is a temperate grassland but close to the equator, has large herds of animals that feed on the grasses.

Tropical Rain Forests   the most diverse land biome that is near equator, receives lots of rainfall, and is hot all year, has tall trees, many plants, and many different types of animals.

Deserts   Land biome where climate is hot and dry; does not have many plants (mostly cacti) and animals like birds, lizards, and scorpions.

Adaptation   features or traits of an organism that helps it survive in its environment
