Quiz yourself by thinking what should be in each of the black spaces below before clicking on it to display the answer.
        Help!

structure
funtion
cell wall   -animals don't have one -plants:made of cellulose -gives strength to plant thru turgor pressure
🗑
cell membrane   -Cell Membrane is the outside covering of a cell that is flexible but still provides support. It determines what goes in and out of the cell such as water, ions, oxygen, CO2 and nutrients.
🗑
Vacuole   - storage unit in cells that hold water. small in animal cells
🗑
nucleus   control center of the cell, houses DNA, controls cell growth and makes ribosomes
🗑
lysosome   contains digestive enzymes to break things down in the cell
🗑
Mitochondria   - "powerhouse" of the cell. Produces energy by breaking down glucose
🗑
Cytoplasm   - gelatinous "goo", semi-transparent fluid that fills the cells. Organelles are suspended in it
🗑
Rough ER   - covered in ribosomes, stores proteins
🗑
Smooth ER   - transports cell products
🗑
Ribosome   - Site of protein synthesis (makes protein)
🗑
Golgi Body   - Packages cell products for transport (like ups)
