---|---|---|---|---|---|
leaf | these are green structures that are the site of photosynthesis (the process plants use to produce food). They contain chlorophyll which is a green pigment (makes plants green).
🗑
Chromatin | Chromatin is the combination of DNA and proteins that make up the contents of the nucleus cell.
🗑
chromosome | They are found in the nucleus. They direct the production of proteins in the cell and are responsible for cell growth and production.
🗑
Diffuson | A process by which the substances (other than water) move from a higher concentration of that substance
No energy needed
Example:a bottle of perfume is opened in a room.
🗑
Golgi body | Named after Camillo Golgi,he discovered it in 1898. It has a structure that looks like a flattened collection of sacs and tubes. They received proteins and other newly formed materials from endoplasmic reticulum,is moved to other parts of the cell.
🗑
Lysosome | Usually found in animal cells.Small round structures used in the digestive system.Contain enzymes that break down food molecules into usable substances which are moved on to the mitochondria.Digest old cell parts,Recycle components so can be used again.
🗑
Mitochondria | In plant and animal cells, where energy is produced.Site of cellular respiration. Energy, released when ATP molecule breaks apart. More active cells have more mitochondria.
🗑
Nucleous | This site where ribosomes are produced. Ribosomes are involved in the protein making process in the cell.
🗑
nucleus | In plant and animal cells.controls the cell-directs all cell activities. Has chromosomes that are made of chromatin, composed of DNA-contains the nucleolus-small,round that makes ribosomes surrounded by the nuclear membrane-similar looks to cell membrane.
🗑
organelles | A specialized part of a cell,it means little organ.
🗑
Osmosis | Diffusion of water through a membrane. No energy needed. The movement of water from a area of higher concentration to a area of lower concentration. Example:celery stay crisper when stored in water in the refrigerator.
🗑
Ribosomes(free or bound) | In plant and animal cells.small round structures on the rough endoplasmic reticulum and floating around in the cytoplasm. These are the protein factories of the cell-This is where amino acids are combined to make the proteins our bodies need.
🗑
Capillary | Tiny blood vessels that connect the smallest arteries to the smallest veins exchanging oxygen, metabolic waste products, and carbon dioxide between blood and tissue cells.
🗑
Circulatory System | The system of organs and structure by which blood and lymph are circulated throughout the body.
🗑
Heart | The hollow 4 chamber muscular organ that pumps blood through the body by contracting and relaxing.
🗑
Hemoglobin | An iron containing protein that binds chemically to oxygen molecules, makes up most of red blood cells.
🗑
Plasma | the clear yellowish fluid portion of blood lymph or intramuscular fluid in which cells are suspended.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
