|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nucleus | Brain of the cell; directs all cell activities.
🗑
| Cell membrane | Acts as a doorway or gate allowing certain materials in and out of the cell.
🗑
| Cell wall | Gives shape and support; made up of cellulose.
🗑
| Mitochondria | Powerhouse of the cell; where food is turned into usable energy, called ATP.
🗑
| Lysosomes | Acts as garbage collectors of the cell; contains digestive enzymes that destroy any cellular waste.
🗑
| Chloroplasts | Green organelle that is filled with chlorophyll; where photosynthesis takes place. Only found in plant cells.
🗑
| Vacuoles | Stores water and nutrients in the cell; it is a storage tank.
🗑
| Cytoplasm | Constantly moving gelatin like material of the cell; it contains all of the other cell organelles.
🗑
| Nucleolus | Produces RNA.
🗑
| Ribosomes | Makes proteins.
🗑
| Golgi Body (Golgi Apparatus) | Processes, packages, and secretes proteins.
🗑
| Endoplasmic reticulum | The transportation system of the cell. It transports proteins throughout the cell.
🗑
| Robert Hooke | Discovered cells.
🗑
| Robert Brown | Discovered the nucleus of a cell.
🗑
| Schwann and Schleiden | Developed the cell theory.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
