What is TARGET? | Target can be used as a model to assess how we are delivering physical activity. Adhering to TARGET allows for a mastery motivational climate.

What is a mastery motivational climate? | A mastery motivational climate is created with TARGET is properly followed, which creates an environment with higher levels of enjoyment, self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation, and perceived competency.

What do the Ts in TARGET stand for? | One is for TASK - ensure that there is a variety of task and challenges to maximize involvement. The other is for TIME - try to use appropriate progressions. If need be, modify tasks, rules, and demands.

What does the A in TARGET stand for? | AUTHORITY; allow students to promote leadership and decision making in children. Self-directed learning leads to empowerment.

What does the R in TARGET stand for? | RECOGNITION; recognize improvement and effort in children, and acknowledge individual characteristics.

What does the G in TARGET stand for? | GROUPING: Set up multiple groups so that the setup can be on skill. Divide up groups appropriately.

What does the E in TARGET stand for? | EVALUATE; Avoid social comparisons, yet give constructive and selective feedback.
