Quiz yourself by thinking what should be in each of the black spaces below before clicking on it to display the answer.
        Help!

Term
Definition
Troposphere   First 0-11 miles. 80% Earth's air, most air pollution
🗑
Stratosphere   11-31 miles. Lower portion is the ozone
🗑
Good Ozone   Filters 95% of UV rays Occurs in lower portion of stratosphere
🗑
Bad Ozone   Very reactive- produces photochemical ozone Occurs in lower portion of stratosphere
🗑
Air Pollution   Chemicals in the atmosphere in a high enough concentration to produce harm: 1. Living Organisms 2. Damaged Ecosystems 3. Climate effect 4. Damage to physical structures
🗑
Primary Pollutants   Discharged directly into the air from human activities
🗑
Secondary Pollutants   Chemicals that react with primary pollutants and other air components.
🗑
Major Air Pollutants   1. Carbon Monoxide (CO) 2. Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
🗑
Carbon Monoxide (CO)   Colorless, odorless, tasteless, deadly gas. Comes from incomplete combustion of fossil fuels that contain carbon.
🗑
Carbon Dioxide (CO2)   Colorless, odorless, greenhouse gas related to atmospheric warming. Greater than 90% comes from natural sources (volcanos) Man sources about 7%
