| How do you investigate the action of amylase in starch? Part 1 | Add starch into water to form a starch solution. Add equal amounts of starch solution to each of the two test tubes. Add amylase of saliva to one of the test tubes and label it A. Shake the test tube to mix the contents.

| How do you investigate the action of amylase in starch? Part 2 | Do not add amylase or saliva to test tube B, this acts as a control. Leave the test tubes in a water bath at 37 degrees. Add a few drops of the solution from each tube to a few drops of iodine solution on a dropping tile.
