Science?   Science is the study of anything that can be perceived by the five human senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch.

Scientific Method?   A process by which the truth of our physical universe can be discovered. The Scientific Method is scientific problem solving.

Scientific Law?   A statement describing a natural phenomenon. i.e. gravity. Summarized the results of many observations & experiments.

Chemistry?   The study of matter.

Matter?   Anything that takes up space and has mass.

Observation?   Question or problem. Must be testable.

Hypothesis?   A possible reason, answer or explanation.

Conditions?   The "If..." part of your hypothesis. What you will do as a test. Independent or experimental variable.

Prediction?   The "then..." part of your hypothesis. What you think will happen, the result. The dependent variable.

Assumption?   The "because..." part of your hypothesis. Scientific or logical reason for making your prediction.

Experiment?   A test or tests to see if your hypothesis is true. The test must be repeatable.

Data?   The information you observe, record, organize & analyze from an experiment.

Accuracy?   The closeness of a measurement to its true & real value.

Precision?   The closeness of many measurements to each other.

Theory?   A theory or answer to your original question or problem based on the evidence you have gathered through experimentation. Conclusion.
