Molecules   The building blocks of all substances, except the elements. These are made up of atoms joined by bonds (attractive forces between positive and negative electrical charges).

Nucleus   The center or core of an atom that is made up of protons and neutrons (Nuclei is more two or more).

Nuclear Reaction   The breaking apart or joining together of nuclei within atoms.

Heat Energy   The energy involved in the movement of atoms and molecules

Light Energy   The energy involved in the motion of electromagnetic waves.

Amplitude   The distance from the rest position to the maximum arc of a wave. This is related to the height of the wave.

Wavelength   The distance between two corresponding parts of a wave. For example, the distance from one crest to the next crest (or trough to trough).

Frequency   The number of waves that pass a given point in a certain amount of time.
