What is the difference between a heterogeneous and a homogeneous mixture?   In a heterogeneous mixture, the parts are noticably different. Ex.)MIxed Nuts IN a homogenous mixture, the substances are evenly distributed so you cannot see the different substances. Ex.) a spoon

What is a compound   A substance that is made from two or more simpler substances, elements or other compounds.

What is a solution?   A solution is when substances dissolve and form a homogeneous mixture.

What is a suspension?   A suspension is when a heterogenous mixture seperates over time into layers.

What is a colloid?   A colloid is when something contains particles intermediate in size between the small particles in a solution and large particles in a suspension.
