What is a pure substance?   A pure substance is matter that always has the same composition throughout.

What is an element?   An element is a pure substance that can't be broken down into into simpler substances and contain 1 type of atom.

What is an atom?   An atom is the smallest part of an element.

What is a compound?   A compound is a pure substance that is made of 2 or more elements in a fixed proportion, can be broken ddoun into simpler substances, and it's compound proplertys differ from the elements they are made up of.

What is a heterogeneous mixture?   A heterogeneous mixture is a mixture whare parts are noticably different from eachother.

What is a Homogeneous mixture?   A homogeneous mixture is a mixture whare parts are evenly distributed and it is difficult to distinguish substances from one another.

What is a solution?   A solution is a homogeneous mixture that does not seporate into layers, cannot be filterd, has very small particals, and light can pass through without being scatterd in all directions.

What is a suspention?   A suspention is a heterogeneous mixture that can seporate into layers, can be trapped by a filter, can scatter light in all directions, and has large particals.

What are collid mixtures?   Collid mixtures contain intermediate particals, do not seporate into layers, are not seporated by a filter, and scatters light.
