Question
Answer
Law of conversation of mass   States that for any chemical process in an isolated system, the mass of the reactants must equal the mass of the products.
🗑
Physical change   Physical changes are changes affecting the form of a substance, but do not change the chemical composition of that substance. Also, physical change does not involve forming new or breaking chemical bonds.
🗑
Chemical change   Chemical changes occur when a substance combines/reacts with another to form a new substance, or alternatively, substance decomposes into two or more different substances. These processes are called chemical reactions.
🗑
Element   An element is a pure chemical substance that is made entirely from one type of atom destinguished by its atomic number, which is the number of protons in its nucleus.
🗑
Chemical formula   is a way of expressing information about the atoms that constitute a particular chemical compound. The chemical formula identifies each constituent element by its chemical symbol and indicates the number of atoms each element found in the compound
🗑
Diatomic Molecule   molecule consisting of two atoms of the same element. For example, oxygen - O2
🗑
Compound molecule   a chemical substance consisting of two or more different chemical elements that can be separated into simpler substances by chemical reactions.
🗑
Chemical equation   is a symbolic representation of a chemical reaction where the reactant elements or molecules are given on the left hand side and the the product elements or molecules are on the right hand side. Chemical reactions are described with chemical equations.
🗑
Chemical reaction   A chemical reaction is a process that leads to the transformation of one set of chemical substances to another. The substance involved in a chemical reaction are called reactants/reagents. Chemical reactions are usually characterized by a chemical change.
🗑
Reactants   The substance or substances initially involved in a chemical reaction are called reactants or reagents.
🗑
Products   The substance or substances produced as a result of a chemical reaction.
🗑
Coefficients   the numbers in front of the chemical formulas which result from the law of conversation of mass and the law of conversation of charge and are used to balance the chemical equations.
🗑
Subscript   if a molecule contains more than one atom of a particular element, this quantity is indicated using a subscript after the chemical symbol.
🗑

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
