First, go to any internet site about the planets and find the facts that I asked you to research about whichever planet you have chosen. While you're researching, keep in mind how you can use the gases in the atmosphere and the natural features of the planet to make human life possible and fun.
Second, think about what humans need to survive. Check out this website to see if you have everything: http://www.studystack.com/matching-28789. You can do this part of the assignment from your own knowledge, but for a high grade you should check the list on the website.
Third, about quality of life, just think about what makes YOU happy! For example, I would need instruments or a stereo on my planet. I would also need several friends and family, and/or a phone to talk to people at home. Plus, I'd need a place to run, go dancing, and I'd definitely need a huge supply of chocolate. Pick a few things that you would need if you were going to be away for five years, and figure out how to make it all work there.
The most important thing about this project is that you are creative. You'd be amazed how much great science is done when people think creatively. I want you to look up some basic facts, and then create new ideas to make life possible on a new planet. That's what scientists are doing now.
