| Azathioprine & Cyclosporine SE | blood dyscrasias, hepatotoxicity, neurotoxicity, nephrotoxicity |
| Muromonab-CD3 SE | chest pain, chills, GI symptoms, flulike symptoms, fluid retention |
| Sulfonamides | allergic reactions, leukopenia, nausea, vomiting, renal failure |
| Penicillins | allergic reactions - urticaria (hives), pruritus (itching), angioedema (swollen lips); SE: GI in nature, lethargy, anemia, increased bleeding, rash |
| Cephalosporins | decrease effectiveness of BC pills, cross-sensitivity w/ penicillins |
| Macrolides | GI tract, compete w/ other drugs for hepatic metabolism |
| Tetracyclines | teeth discoloration (not for kids/preg.), photosensitivity, superinfections, alter vaginal floral, retard fetal skeletal development; no dairy |
| Aminoglycosides | ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity *do BUN, creatine and CBC |
| Fluoroquines | not for children (affects cartilage dev., pts on antiarrhythmic agents), headache, diziness, insomnia, nausea, constipation, heartburn, photosensitivity; don't use w/ antacids, iron or zinc |
| Vancomycin (vancocin) | narrow therapeutic range - ototoxicity & nephrotoxicity |
| Isoniazid (INH) | do not drink alcohol while on this!! Hard on liver, take Vitamin B6 |
| antifungals | drug interactions & hepatotoxicity are primary concerns - need ALT & AST blood tests |
| antiprotozoal agents | do not take w/ alcohol- causes flushing, nausea & vomiting, |
| helminithic | not for pregnant women |
