What is the most important thing to consider when applying labels to the prescription containers? the label is applied in a way that allows it to be completely visible to the patient.
Which term describes products, such as metered dose inhalers, oral contraceptives, and suppositories, that are labeled in their original packages? unit of use packaes
Options for applying a label to a unit of use package if the container is too small for the label to fit? turn the label before putting it on the container, package the bottle or two in it's original box or plastic bottle and label the box or vial.
A complete label is applied to the original box containing a metered dose inhaler. What information should be included on the small label placed directly on the inhaler? the pharmacy department's name, prescription number, patient's name, and prescribers name.
Where are auxiliary labels placed? directly on the prescription bottle or vial
Auxiliary labels used with antibiotics would say? "finish all of this medication until otherwise directed by prescriber."
Auxiliary labels used with topical creams, ointments, and lotions would say? "for external use only"
Auxiliary labels used with certain pain medications and antihistamines would say? "may cause drowsiness, alcohol may intensify tis effect. Use caution when operating a care or machinery."
How do individual pharmacies supply information about a medications uses and potential side effects to patients? by generating leaflets or sheets
Who has the final responsibility for checking he accuracy of a prescription? the pharmacist
