1st gen H1 anithistamine. For allergic rhinitis, parkinsonism, insomnia. S.E.: sedation, dry eyes/mouth. Contra: babies. increased risk of arrhythmia Diphenhydramine and other 1st gen H1 antihis
1st Gen H1 antihistamine. For allergic rhinitis, anaphylaxis, insomnia. SE: sedation, dry eyes/mouth. Contra: comatose, babies. used primarily to relieve preop anxiety and reduce postop N/V Promethazine
1st gen H1 Antihistamine. For anxiety/pruritis in depressed patients. SE: HTN, hypoten, thrombocytopen, worse depression. contra: glaucoma. Dont give to pts w/o depression cuz its also a TCA Doxepin
1st Gen H1 Antihistamine. For Pruritis, alcohol withdrawl. SE: sedation, dry eyes/mouth. contra: early preg. Hydroxyzine
2nd Gen H1 antihistamine. For allergic rhinitis and urticaria. SE: somnolence, dry mouth, fatigue (less severe than 1st Gen) reduced pentetration into CNS. Cetirizine, Loratidine, Fexofenadine, Azelastine (has bitter taste and epistaxis)
H2 receptor antag. For PUD, GERD. can be given IV Ranitidine
H2 receptor antagonist. For PUD, GERD. SE: gynecomast, galactorrhea, loss of libido. inhibits CYP450 metab of warfarin, phenytoin, lidocaine, quinidine (increases their plasma levels) Cimetidine
