What are the wrist flexors? (3)  FCR, FCU, Palmaris Longus
What are the wrist extensors? (3)  ECRL, ECRB, ECU
What are the radial deviators? (4)  ECR, FCR, EPL&B
What are the wrist ulnar deviators? (2)  ECU, FCU
What is gamekeeper's thumb? How would you test for this?  A tear of the ulnar collateral ligament. Hold the pt's thumb in extension, and apply a valgus force (move thumb toward index finger). Positive test: Excessive valgus movement. (compare to contralateral side)
What is the Allen test (at the wrist) used for? Describe it.  Tests for vascular insufficiency. Pt opens and closes hand several times in succession, then makes a fist and holds it. PT compresses radial and ulnar arteries and pt relaxes hand. PT releases pressure on one artery. Positive test: Delayed color return.
Describe the capillary refill test.  Therapist compresses pt's nailbed, and after releasing the pressure, notes how long it takes for color to return to the nail. Positive test: Delayed response of greater than 2 seconds.
