Kidneys located at  T12-L3, higher on left  
Hilum located at  L1  
Kidney A to P  Renal vein, artery, pelvis  
Medulla is formed by  pyramids  
Renal columns is  where cortex extends between the renal columns  
Papilla  tip of ea. pyramid  
Urine is released through  papilla  
Minor calix  urine collects here  
Minor calyses drain into  major calix  
Renal pelvis  formed by 3 major calyses  
Kidney surrounded by  fat & fascia for protection  
Kidney from surface outward  renal capsule, perirenal fat, renal fascia, pararenal fat  
Lesser splanchnic n. fibers synapse in  aorticorenal ganglia & join renal plexus on renal a.  
least splanchnic n. fibers go directly to  renal a. & synapse with diffuse ganglion cells  
additional kidney n. contribution from  L1 & L2  
Kidneys recieve no extrinsic parasympathetic innervation but  modified eptithelial cells which produce acetylcholine
