What is a bit? Smallest unit of memory.
What is the CPU or otherwise known as the central processing unit? The control unit for the entire computer.
What is RAM or otherwise known as random access memory? Temporary memory that stores information that is quickly accessible only while the computer is turned on.
What does the abbreviation "GB" mean? Gigabyte.
What is the classroom response system also called? A clicker.
What does LCD stand for? Liquid crystal display.
What is resolution? It is the clarity of the image that is seen on the computer screen.
What is a data projection unit? A liquid crystal display unit with a light source.
What is a storage device? Allows storage for data use at a later time. Keeps information even when the computer is turned off.
What is the Ethernet port used for? An internet connection for the computer.
What are parallel ports used for? Connecting the computer to a printer.
Why do we need system software? It provides a foundation for all applications to run off of.
How many gigabytes does 1 terabyte hold? Approximately 1,024.
The speed of the processor is also important and conveys how fast data can be moved in and out of the memory is also known as? Processor speed.
These devices may be built into the computer and or monitor and they produce sound. What are they? Speakers.
