What is a CPU? CPU is a central processing unit that is in the computer, often referred to as the processor.
What is an ALU? ALU is an arithmetic logic unit or sector of the CPU that performs mathematical calculations.
What is RAM? RAM is temporary memory that is designed to hold new data and is available only while the computer is turned on.
What is ROM? ROM is permanent internal memory inside the system, is inaccessible by the user, and used to store instructions that are installed or programmed by the manufacturer.
What is a clicker? A clicker is a classroom response system, it is a handheld device that resembles a TV remote that allows students to respond to questions given by the instructor.
Define resolution? Resolution defines the clarity of the image that is seen on the computer screen.
What is a pixel? A pixel is a single colored square on the screen. When pixels are joined, the image can be viewed.
What is a printer? A printer outputs the data after it has been processed in what is called a hard copy, or a readable, permanent copy.
What is a PDA? A PDA is a pen input. This small portable tools allows the user to input handwritten notes on a tiny keyboard and screen.
What is a Web cam? A web cam is a tiny camera that is on the computer and feeds video directly into the computer.
What is audio? Audio is sound that can be input into the computer with the use of a microphone.
What is a computer monitor? A computer monitor are also called screens or displays, they are the most common output device. They display information on the screen where it can be edited and sent to the printer.
What is an Output Device? Output devices produce the data after it has been processed in hard copy and or soft copy. Examples are text documents, graphics, or multimedia.
What are storage devices? Storage devices allows storage of data for later use.
What is AT? AT means assistive technology includes devices for special needs students, such as readers, special keyboards and so on.
