what is drought? Drought stays for a long time usually a season or more, resulting in a water shortage causing people, animals and plants to have less food and water. Drought is also a normal feature of climate that occurs in all climate zones, form very to very dry.
how does a drought form? Droughts form because of long periods without rain and the environment dries up and a drought happens.
what are the three kinds of drought? Meteorological drought, Hydrological drought and Agricultural drought.
how can a drought be dangerous? people are going to have less food and water and animal can die from hunger and thirst.
what is the definition of a drought? drought is an extended period–a season, a year, or several years–of deficient rainfall relative to the statistical multi-year average for a region.
how can you be safe during a drought? 1. Drink plenty of water. 2. Stay indoors. 3. Wear loose light clothing 4. Reduce outdoor activities to cooler times in the day. 5. Don’t stay in the sun for too long. 6. Eat easily digested foods.
what is the difference between a flood and a drought? a flood means there is too much water and a drought means there is no water.
when does a drought happen? Droughts occur when there is not enough water for people, plants and animals for an unusual amount of time.
what is something interesting about a drought? it can occur in any climate–arid or humid.
how can a drought affect people? In many countries drought can affect people’s access to food and water.
what is the meaning of Hydrological drought? refers to deficiencies in surface and subsurface water supplies. It’s measured as stream flow, and as lake, reservoir, and ground water levels.
what is the meaning of Agricultural drought? something that occurs when there is insufficient soil moisture to meet the needs of a particular crop at a particular time.
