Geography terms

QuestionAnswer
What is demography? The study of vital and social statistics such as deaths, births, diseases, marriges, etc. of populations.
What is population density? The number of people living per unit in a certain area.
What is birthrate? The proportion of the number of births to the population of a certain place and time usually expressed by per 1000 of the poulation.
What is death rate? The number of deaths per unit of a population.
What is migration? The act of moving from one region or place to another.
What are emigrants? People who leave their country to go to another place to live.
What are immigrants? People from many foreign lands.
What are push factors? A factor that leave one no choice but to leave ones home, region, or country.
What are pull factors? Factors that make people want to move to a different place.
What are refugees? People that flee places for safety reasons usually to a different country.
What is Assimilation? The act of alien practices to a group or region being adopted into every day life and society.
