Phrasal verbs - in (2): including sth

QuestionAnswer
One way to learn phrasal verbs is by organizing them by particles. The particles which appear with phrasal verbs often have their own general meaning, which can help you understand the meaning of the whole verb.
'In' can he used with some verbs that give the idea of adding or mixing something in something else, or of including something with something else.
fit sb/sth <--> in ----- [I'll try and fit you in after lunch.] ----- [I have fit in three people already today.] to find time to see sb or to do sth
throw sth <-> in ----- [Buy a computer now and get a free printer thrown in!] ----- [You can have the computer for $500, and I'll throw in some software.] to include something extra with something that you are selling, without asking for more money
stir sth <-> in ----- [Cook the mixture for 3 minutes, then stir in the flour.] ----- [Stir in the milk until the sauce thickens.] to add something to a liquid or substance and mix it
blend sth <-> in ----- [Beat the butter and sugar; then blend in the egg.] ----- [You should blend in some more jam.] to mix something evenly into something else
fold sth <-> in ----- [Carefully, the chef folded the eggs into the other ingredients.] ----- [Fold the cocoa into the cake batter.] to add something slowly and gently to a mixture
