Pineal Gland Regulates circadian rhythm. (Brain)
Thyroid and parathyroid glands regulates metabolic rate and regulates blook calcium levels. (Upper Trachea)
Adrenal glands Regulates water and electrolyte levels. (RUQ)
Pancreas A gland located behind the stomach that produces insulin and juices that assist in digestion of food in the duodenum of the small intestine. (RUQ & LUQ)
Pituitary gland Regulates many other endocrine glands. (Brain)
Thymus gland Development of immune system. (Lower Trachea)
Pharynx and Larynx Carries air into the trachea and produces sound.
Trachea Transports air to and from lungs.
Nasal Cavity Cleanses, warms, and humidifies inhaled air.
Bronchial tubes Air passageways inside the lung.
Lungs Site of gas exchange between air and blood.
Kidney Filters blood and regulate fluid levels in the body, produces urine. 2 of them. (RUQ, ULQ, LRQ, LLQ)
Urinary Bladder Stores Urine. (RLQ, LLQ)
Ureter Tubes connecting the kidneys to the bladder, transports urine. (RUQ, RLQ, LUQ, LLQ)
Liver The largest organ of the body, which produces bile to assist in breakdown of fats and assists in the metabolism of various substances in the body. (RUQ, LUQ)
Spleen An organ in the LUQ, that acts as a blood filtration system and a reservior for reserves of blood.
Gallbladder A sac on the underside of the liver that stores bile produced by the liver. (RUQ)
Large Intestine The muscular tube that removes water from waste products received from the small intestine and moves anything not absorbed by the body toward extretion from the body.
Colon (ULQ)final stage of digestive process,3steps to absorb the remaining water and electrolytes from indigestible food matter; to accept and stores food remains that were not digested in the small intestine; and to eliminate solid waste (feces) from the body.
Stomach Muscular sac between the esophagus and the small intestine where digestion of food begins. (LUQ)
Small Intestine Muscultube between the stomach and the large intestine, divided into the duodenum, the jejunum, and the ileum, which receives partially digested food from the stomach and continues digestion. Nutrients are absorbed by the body through its walls.(RLQ, LLQ)
