Plane Figures

Right Angle An angle that measures 90°
Acute Angle An angle that measures greater than 0° and less than 90°
Obtuse Angle An angle that measures more than 90° and less than 180°
Polygon A closed plane figure with straight sides
Triangle A polygon with 3 sides
Quadrilateral A polygon with 4 sides
Pentagon A polygon with 5 sides
Hexagon A polygon with 6 sides
Octagon A polygon with 8 sides
Regular Polygon A polygon in which all sides are equal length and angles have equal measure
Equilateral Triangle A triangle with 3 equal sides
Isosceles Triangle A triangle with 2 equal sides
Scalene Triangle A triangle with no equal side
Trapezoid A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides
Venn Diagram A diagram that shows relationships among sets of things
Circle A closed plane figure made of points that are same distance from the center
Center The point inside the circle that is the same distance from each point of the circle
Chord A line segment that has its endpoints on the circle
Diameter A chord that passes through the center of the circle
Radius A line segment with one endpoint at the center of the circle and the other endpoint on the circle
