Asthma, Root and Branch: If the "Branch" is Wind Cold invading Lung, what will the symptoms likely include? SF (floating) and tight pulse. (T typically doesn't change in time.) Rapid onset, audible wheezing. Rapid breathing. c/b HA, chilss, tightness or heaviness of chest. Not much phlegm. C/b coughing up of thin, white, foamy mucus. Lips/fingertips c/b BLUE!
Asthma, Root and Branch: If the "Root" is Lung Qi Vacuity, what will the symptoms likely include? History of frequent respiratory infections &/or chronic sinus congestion &/or chronic mucus. Maybe chronic, weak cough or wheezing. Soft/weak voice. SOB or spontaneous sweating. Maybe chronic aversion to drafts/feeling chilled. Diminished sense of smell.
Asthma, Root and Branch: If the "Branch" is Wind Cold invading Lung, what might a point prescription look like? Ding Chuan (Stop Wheezing), LU7 (Opens LU, dispels WC), LU5 (descends rebellious qi?), UB12 (WInd Gate), UB13 (BS), R17 (cough), MOXA Ren 12!
Asthma, Root and Branch: If the "Root" is Lung Qi Vacuity, what might a point prescription look like? Ding Chuan, LU9 (YSP for LU), ST36 (tonify whole body qi), SP6 (I would use SP3 or SP9 but whatever), UB13/UB20

Presentation/signs & sx for Sore Throat d/t Wind-Heat Burning, sore, raw, red throat. Or red spots/patches. F/C, fever dominant. Mild sweat. Floating P. HA. Sneeze. Cough. Thick yellow mucus (nose or chest). Malaise. Thirst. Crave cold bev/food. Husky voice. Painful, tender sub-maxillary lymph nodes.
Presentation/signs & sx for Sore Throat d/t Excess Heat in LU-ST Four Bigs. Extremely painful to swallow. Pain could radiate up to jaw or even inner ear. Could be pustules. May only be able to eat ice cream.
Treatment principle for Sore Throat d/t Excess Heat in LU-ST Clear Heat, Resolve Toxins, Benefit Throat
Point prescription for Sore Throat d/t Excess Heat in LU-ST BLEED: LU11, LI1, Du14, ST45 (or needle ST44). Needle: R22, R23, LI4, LU7+K6, special Nei Jing combo: ST25+ST37 (FM and LHS for acute onset XS, clear heat from (Yangming) bowels)
Presentation/signs & sx for Sore Throat d/t LU Yin Deficiency (Smoking, ongoing lingering emotional stress.) Mild pain. Might be described as 'severe scratchy.' Worse @ night. C/b slight redness, c/b mild, chronic, dry cough. Dry mouth. Mild thirst. Night sweats, malar flush, c/b dry itchy eyes. TRP. LRT TDYC peeled
