Computer A computer is a machine that can be programed developed in the 1940s.
Personal Computer A personal computer is a PC that comes with a keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
Hardware The hardware is all attached equipment are the hardware.
Software The Software is the set of instructions for the computer that has the ability to change or create data.
Monitor The Monitor is a display screen.
Mouse The Mouse is an input device.
Keyboard The Keyboard is a set of keys or buttons that are used to put information and instructions on the computer.
Hard Drive The Hard Drive is the primary storage unit of the computer. It is stored magnetically.
CDROM The CD is a compact disk read only memory.
CDROM Drive The CDROM Drive is is the mail box with the motor and the other parts that help the computer read the compact disk.
Data The Data is the pieces of info that the software can change.
Program The Program is another word for software. It is the list of instructions.
Operating System The Operating System tells programs what to do.
Bios The Bios wakes up the computer.
Motherboard The Motherboard holds all the circuits together.
CPU CPU is the Central Processing Unit. It also gets very hot and it is the brain of the computer.
ROM Rom has a good memory but it can only memory.
RAM Ram is the Random Access Memory and it reads and writes.
Power Supply The Power Supply gives electricity to the computer.
Modem The Modem connects computers to each other.
Port The port hardware plugs into it: like keyboard, and mouse.
Video Card The Video Card allows graphics to be played on the monitor.
Power Plug The power plug is used to provide power into the computer and out ot the monior
Parellel Port The parellel port is an electrical connector that is used to send information on wires at the same time to a printer.
Serial Port The serial port is used to connect older or specialized devices ,send parts of a messagem bar code scanner
Network Interface Card an Ethernet cable connection
Universal Serial Bus an external bus that transfers mbps
