What is Plate tectonics? A theory about the movement of the continents.
What is Pangea? A super continent that exsited 300 million years ago.
Which layer is the thickest layer? Mantle.
How much does the average continent move each year? Few centimeters.
What happens at a convergent boundary? The plates colide.
What do plates float on? Upper Mantle.
What is called when one plate is pushed under another plate as the colide? Subduction.
What is the structure of the earth most like? Apple.
Where is the mantle found? Between the crust and the core.
How are plates moved? By convection currents in the Mantle.
Which is the hottest part of the Earth structure? The core.
What happens at divergent boundries? Sea floor spreads and magma rises up to fill the gap, forming underwater features like oceanic ridges and submarine volcanoes.
Where is the point that earthquakes starts? The focus.
What is an Earthquake? A suddent movement of the Earth's Surface.
What is used to measure the strength of Earhquakes? Seismograph.
What is the strenght of an Earthquake is known as? Magnitude.
What is the name of the scale used to indicate the strenght of an Earthquakes? The Richer scale.
what is the point at ground level directly above the focuse? The epicenter.
