Regions of PA

Allegheny Plateau The highest elevation region. It is also the largest with lots of mountains.
Atlantic Coastal Plain Flat region about 10 miles wide. Contains the state's largest city. Located on the Delaware River
Ridge and Valley Contains many mountain ranges and valleys.
Piedmont Some of the best farmland in the country is here. It has low rolling hills
Erie Plain Located off of a Great lake. This region has very good soil for growing things. It is located on the snow belt.
Pittsburgh The largest city in the Allegheny Plateau
Philadelphia The largest city in our state. It is a very important city for the history of our country.
Harrisburg The capital of Pennsylvania
