What Diet suggestions for PMS: Banana, walnuts, yogurt, spinach Calcium, magnesium, ginko biloba, soy, flaxseed, moderate red wine intake Carbohydrates boost serotonin (sweet potatoes, spleen friendly foods) Avoid greasy food Decrease salt, sugar, red meat, and caffeine
Describe Homonal Irregularities of PMS: Progesterone (regulates the amount and length of bleeding) High estrogen, low progesterone (aka estrogen dominance) Cortisol (stress hormone) Prostaglandin (causes uterine contractions, high sensitivity correlated w/ dysmenorrhea) High insulin levels
