QuestionAnswer
Hydrosphere The layer of water on the Earth. (Oceans, Lakes, Rivers, etc.)
Lithosphere The layer of land on the Earth. (Hills, Mountains, Cliffs, etc.)
Atmosphere The layer of air on the Earth. (Oxygen, Hydrogen, Helium, etc.)
Plate Tectonics The plates that drift on top of the magma in the mantle.
Continental Drift Wegener's theory of why the continents drifted to their present-day locations.
Pangaea The super continent that consists of all the continents.
Crust Outermost layer of the Earth. First Layer.
Mantle The second layer of the Earth. Holds the magma. Second layer.
Outter Core The outter layer of the core. Third layer.
Core The innermost part of the Earth. Made of solid Iron Ore. Around 1500 degrees.
Matter Anything in the world that takes up space.
Gas Matter that has no definite shape or volume. Some examples are oxygen, hydrogen,and helium.
Liquid Matter that has a definite volume but not a definete shape. Some examples are water, salvia,and juice.
Solid Objects that have a definite shape or volume. Some exaples are books, computers, clocks.
Equator An imaginary line that goes East and West of the Earth and measures North and South.
Prime Meridian An imaginary line that goes North and South of the Earth and measures East and West.
Fossils Preserved organisms that are submerged into the Earth as rocks or stones.
Mass A unit in science. Used as (g) or grams and for measuring how heavy an object is.
Volume A unit obtained by multiplying the length, width, and height of and object.
Density A unit obtained by dividing the objects mass by their volume.
