Rise of Fascism

Spanish Civil War Franco (facist) fights republicans from July 17, 1936 to April 1, 1939 and takes over Spain. Hitler supports him in his war.
Hitler. Facist leader of Germany. Gained power after the Burning of the Reichstag and the enabling act was passed. He wrote a book on his idealogy's called "Mein Kampf."
Brown Shirts Hitler's personal army used to intimaidating and deal with opposition(idea taken from Mussolini's Black Shirts)
Enabling Act Passed after the burning of the Reichstag. Gave Hitler power over all of Germany.
Nuremerg Laws Laws passed to discriminate agaisnt the Jews
Night of Long Knives Hitler's purge to kill off any potential political opposition leaders and members who were associated with socialism. The murders were carried out by Hitler's "Brown Shirts"
Kristalnatch Jewish Business stores had windows smashed littering the streets with glass. Jewish people were then forced to clean it up
Propaganda Used to manipulate and mold the publics mind into believing whatever the government told them to believe. Often in the form of posters.
Lebensraum Hitler's plan for "living space" for the German People. His plan outlined a plan to take over surrounding areas in order to expand the German area and provide resources for the Germanic People.
Aryan Race Hitler's ideal race. Blonde hair blue eyes
Final Solution Hitlers overall goal to exterminate the jews and have a country with an all Aryan population.
Holocaust Hitler's extermination of over 5 million Jewish people. Many of the murders happend in gas chambers in camps such as Auschwitz
Mass Rallies Rallies held mainly in Nuremberg that were in support of Nazism. The rallies portrayedHitler as Germany's savior. Propaganda was everywhere.
Nazism refers primarily to the totalitarian ideology and practices of the Nazi Party. Belief in the superiority of an Aryan master race. Large belife in Nationalism.
