What happened at Yorktown? Washington combine 16,000 french american army. Confronts cornwallis in early sept at virginia. Trapped him in pennsula. The repulse of british fleet gave french control of chesapeakbay. Cornwallis expected help but never came so fate was clear.
End result of yorktown cornwallis, 7200 soldies and 804 sea man surrendered.

In treaty of paris what benefited the US Stated that bruitain recognized americans independence and gave them the borders of the USA. plus gained liberty to fish in newfound banks.
Why was the british willing to be generous in the peace? Hope of foundation for angle american commercial alliance and eventually some form of political reunion
