| What is a saturated color? | Colors used in the color wheel are called saturated colors because there is no white or black in them |
| What three groups make up the color wheel? | Primary, secondary, and tertiary colors |
| What is a tint? | A tint is a saturated color that is mixed with pure white color |
| What is a shade? | A shade is a saturated color that is mixed with pure black color |
| What are the three colors considered to be warm colors? | Red, orange, and yellow |
| What are the three colors considered to be cool colors? | Blue, violet, and green |
| What are the five neutral colors? | Black, grey, white, brown, and tan |
| What are the six types of color harmonies? | Monochromatic Analogous Complementary Triadic Split Complementary Neutral |
| What is a monochromatic color harmony? | Achieved by using tints and shades of only one color ex. dark green, kelly green, light green |
| What is an analougus color harmony? | Done by using three or more colors that are next to each other on the color wheel ex. red, red-violet, violet |
| What is a complementary color harmony? | Two colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel ex. blue and orange |
| What is a triadic color harmony? | Three colors that are located within equal distance of each other ex. red, blue, and yellow |
| What is a split complementary scheme? | created by using any color and the two colors located next to that colors complement (Y) ex. orange, blue-green, blue-violet |
| What is a neutral color scheme? | Any combination of blacks, greys, whites, browns, and tans |
