PROBLEMS

Various Medical Conditions, Complaints, Ailments and Diseases.

PROBLEMEXPLANATION
FIBROSIS ? Thickening & scaring of connective tissue, usually as a result of injury.
FIBROSITIS ? Inflamation of fibrous connective tissue, usually RHEMATIC.
CEREBRAL PALSY ? Cerebral palsy (CP) is an umbrella term encompassing a group of non-progressive, non-contagious neurological disorders that cause, weakness & impaired coordination of the limbs.
NEURALGIA ? An intense intermittent pain along the course of a NERVE.
NEUROPHATHY ? A disease or dysfunction of one or more PERIPHERAL NERVES.
BRONCHITIS ? Inflammation of the MUCUS MEMBRANE in the bronchial tubes
LEUKAEMIA ? Any of a group of malignant diseases in which the bone marror and other blood forming organs prodeuce increased numbers of leucocytes.
RHEUMATISM Any disease marked by inflammation & pain in the joint, muscles or fibrous tissue, Esp Rheumatoid Arthritis.
RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS ? Chronic progressive disease causing inflammation & stiffening of the joint.
ARTERLOSCLEROSIS Loss of elasticity & thickening of the walls of the arteries. Esp in old age.
CORONARY THROMBOSIS ? A blockage of the blood flow caused by a blood clot in a coronary artery ?
ENTERITIS ? Inflammation of the small intestine, often causing diarrhoea.
GASTRITIS ? Inflammation of the STOMACH & INTESTINES.
SEPSIS ? A serious medical condition, resulting from the immune response to a severe infection. Septicaemia is sepsis of the bloodstream caused by bacteremia, which is the presence of bacteria in the bloodstream.
BRONCHOPNEUMONIA ? Inflammation of the LUNGS, arising in the BRONCHI or BRONCHIOLES.
EMPHYSEMA ? Ennlargement of the air sacs of the LUNGS causing breathlessness.
LARYNGITIS ? Inflamation of the LARYNX ?
TUBERCULOSIS ? An infectious disease caused by the BACILLUS MYOBACTERIUM Tuberculosis, charicterised by tubercules, Esp in the lungs.
LYMPHOMA ? Any malignant tumour of the lymph nodes, excluding Leukaemia.
MYELITIS ? Inflammation of the spinal cord.
PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS ? Form of tuberculosis caused by inhaling the tubercle bacillus into the lungs.
OSTEOPOROSIS ? Acondition of brittle & fragile bones caused by loss of bony tissue. Esp as a result of hormonal changes, or deficiency of calcium or vitamin D
SPINA BIFFIDA ? Congenital defect of the spine, In which part of the spinal cord protudes.
OEDEMA ? Watery fluid collecting in the Lungs.
ILEUS ? Blocked Bowel. Refers to limited or absent Intestinal passage. (Formerly called iliac passion).
ILEUS Symptoms ? Moderate, diffuse Abdominal discomfort, constipation, Abdominal Distension, Nausea/Vomiting, lack of Bowel movement and/or Flatulence.
Sinusitis ? Inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, which may or may not be as a result of infection, from bacterial, fungal, viral, allergic or autoimmune issues.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (Gerd) Chronic Symptoms or Mucosal Damage produced by the Abnormal Reflux of Gastric contents into the Esophagus.
Typhoid Fever ? A serious Infection caught from Contaminated food or water prevalent in areas where sanitation is poor.
Hepatitis A ? Like Typhoid Fever this Disease is spread by contaminated water or food wherever there's poor Sanitation.
Hepatitis B ? Is a highly Infectious virus spread through Blood, Semen & other body fluids. Contact even through tiny quantities of an infected person's body fluid can pass the virus on.
Cholera ? Is a serious Bacterial Disease that occurs in regions of the world where sanitation & food & wqater are lacking.
Tetanus ? A Potentially Fatal Disease, is Contracted when Spores in the soil enter the Body through Cuts or Scratches. Tetanus exits all over the world.
Diptheria ? Is a Serious Disease spread through droplets contained in Coughs & Sneezes.
Polio ? Viral Infectious Disease . Spread from person-to-person via the Fecal-Oral route. May cause Paralysis & in some cases can be Fatal.
Yellow Fever ? Is an acute viral disease, It is an important cause of Hemorrhagic illness, The yellow portion of yellow fever refers to the jaundice symptoms that affect some patients.
