worddeffinition
hyperlink a word, phrase, or image that you can click on to jump to a new document
link see a highlighted and underlined word or phrase on a page on the internet
webpage individual HTML documents
website is a collection of Web pages

HTTP protocol used to transfer data over the World Wide Web
HTTPS but uses a secure socket layer for security purposes
Serial port onnection on PCs that is used for peripherals such as mice, gaming controllers, modems, and older printers
parallel port found on the back of older PCs and is used for connecting external devices such as printers or a scanners
USB port Universal Serial Bus, ost common type of computer port used in today's computers
webmaster the person in charge of maintaining a Web site
domain name identifies an Web site
domain suffix often referred to as a "top-level domain" or TLD
encryption coding or scrambling of information so that it can only be decoded and read by someone who has the correct decoding key
