HTML Stands for "Hyper-Text Markup Language." the language that Web pages are written in
HTTP Stands for "HyperText Transfer Protocol." This is the protocol used to transfer data over the World Wide Web.
HTTPS Stands for "HyperText Transport Protocol Secure." HTTPS is the same thing as HTTP, but uses a secure socket layer for security purposes. (banking,password)
Serial port a type of connection on PCs that is used for peripherals such as mice, gaming controllers, modems, and older printers.
Parallel port interface is found on the back of older PCs and is used for connecting external devices such as printers or a scanners
USB port Stands for "Universal Serial Bus."Iused to connect keyboards, mice, game controllers, printers, scanners, digital cameras, and removable media drives
webmaster the person in charge of maintaining a Web site.
domain name the name that identifies a Web site
domain suffix is the last part of a domain name and is often referred to as a "top-level domain" or TLD
encryption is the coding or scrambling of information so that it can only be decoded and read by someone who has the correct decoding key.
log in/on enter your username and password, you are being asked to enter your login information
log off disconnects you from the computer/server/site so your information is not still connected; diconnects your account access
cookie is a small amount of data generated by a website and saved by your web browser
Screen Shot or screen capture, is a picture taken of your computer's desktop
Upload sending a file from your computer to another system
Download receiving a file from another computer
Auto Fill Cursor looks like a thin black cross it's used to repeat things or fill in a series such as dates by clicking and dragging
select mode Cursor looks like a thick cross and when it's open you are in normal mode in Excel
Click and Drag Cursor looks like an arrow if you click your mouse and drag somewhere while the arrow is showing you will move whatever you have clicked
Resizing Cursor thick black line with two arrows intersecting it. it's used to change the size of your rows or columns
