Hyporheic Zone | Layer under gravel of ephemeral stream with living organisms |

Riparian Zone | narrow strips of land located beside rivers, streams or creeks |

Lake Stratification | layering of a body of water due to changes in temperature and density; forms epilimnion, metalimnion, and hypolimnion |
