compound | a pure substance made of two or more different elements chemically combined |

proton | a particle in the nucleus of an atom that has a POSITIVE charge; its mass is 1 amu |

electron cloud | an area surrounding the nucleus of an atom where electrons are found |
electron | a negatively charged subatomic particle that orbits around the nucleus of an atom; its mas is 0 amu |
