Occluded Cutoff, as the warm air mass at an occluded front is cutoff from the ground by cooler air beneath it.
Lightining A sudden spark, or energy, caused when electric charge jumps between parts of a cloud or between a cloud and the ground
Tornado A rapidly whirling, funnel-shaped cloud to touch Earth's surface, usually leaving a destructive part
Hurricane A tropical storm that has wind of 119km per hour or higher, typically about 600km
El nino An abnormal climate event that occurs every 2 to 7 years in the Pacific Ocean, causing changes in winds,currents and weather patterns that can lead to dramatic climate changes
Climate The average year-after-year conditions of temperature precipitation,winds and clouds in an area
Storm surge A dome of water that sweeps across the coast where a hurricane lands
Flash flood A sudden, violent flood that occurs within a few hours or even minuet, of heavy rain storm
Tropical A warm air mass that forms in the tropics and has low air pressure
Polar Cold air masses that form north of 50 degrees north latitude and has air pressure
Air mass A huge body of air that has similar temperature,pressure and humidity throughout
Meteorologist Scientist who study the cause of weather and try to predict it
Maritime A humid air mass that forms over oceans
Wind ward The side of mountains that faces the oncoming wind
Isotherm Lines on a map joining places that have the same temperature
Isobar Lines on a map joining places that have the same air pressure
Continental A dry air that forms over land
Front The area were air masses meet and don't mix
Cyclones A swirling center of low air pressure
Anticyclones A high pressure center of dry air
Storm A violent disturbance in the atmosphere
Evacuate To move away temporarily
Lee ward The down side of mountains
