How is the degree of acceptance reflected? In the woman's emotional responses.
When does the process of identifying with the mother's role begin? Early in life when they are being mothered as a child.
How and when does a woman form an attachment with the fetus? During the pregnancy through fantasizing and daydreaming to prepare for motherhood.
How do women prepare for birth? Read books, view films, attend parenting classes, talk to other women.

What are some barriers to obtaining health care during pregnancy? inadequate numbers of health car providers, unpleasant clinic facilities or procedures, distance from health care facilities, lack of transportation, fragmnetation of services, inadequate finances, personal attitudes.
Who should be assessed for a history of physical abuse and why? All women because the likihood of abuse increases during pregnancy.
What physical parameters are monitored at each prenatal visit? BP, weight, urine dipstick, abdominal measurement, FHT
Why is good nutrition important during pregnancy? To maintain maternal health and provide adequate nutrients for embryonic and fetal development.
Why is personal hygeine important? Because sebaceous glands are highly active and women perspire freely.
What are Kegel exercises? Deliberate contraction and relaxation of the pubococcygeus muscle to strengthen the muscles around the
Why is dental hygeine important during pregnancy? Nausea during pregnancy may lead to poor oral hygeine and lead to dental caries.
What should the pregnat woman do in relation to travel during the pregnancy? Frequent rest periods and activity, deep breathing while sitting, foot circling, alternatly contracting and relaxing muscle groups.
What is associated with smoking during pregnancy? Intrauterine growth restriction.
What is the goal of childbirth eduction? assist individuals and families to make informed, safe decisions about pregnancy and birth and early parenthood.
What kind of eduction do women get in "early bird" classes? fundamental information
