Coronary Arteries and Circulation

RCA is divided into what branches? Posterior descending artery and the Right Marginal Artery
RCA supplies blood to? Right atrium, R ventricle, bottom portion of the left ventricle and back of septum
Right Marginal Artery supplies blood to? Branches off the RCA, supplies lateral and inferior portion of R ventricle
In general the main portion of the RCA provides blood to what side of the heart? provides blood to the right side of the heart, which pumps blood to the lungs
Posterior descending artery Branches off the RCA and sometimes the circumflex supplying the inferior wall, bottom portion of left ventricle & back of the septum
Circumflex artery supplies blood to the left atrium, & the side and back of the left ventricle
LCA is mainly divided into what branches Circumflex artery & the Left anterior descending artery
The left anterior descending artery supplies blood to the front and bottom of the L venricle and the front of the septum,& some of the L atria
Collateral circulation network of tiny blood vessels, and, under normal conditions, not open
When might collateral vessels enlarge and become active When the coronary arteries narrow to the point that blood flow to the heart muscle is limited (coronary artery disease), or if an artery is blocked to protect the heart from injury
the hearts blood supply comes from the coronary arteries
